Mont McClendon is a principal in the company. As Manager, he acts as a liaison between ownership and daily operations. McClendon is an AV-rated lawyer and a Life Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation with an extensive background in real estate and business litigation and transactions. He received a juris doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996, and practiced law alongside his father, Jack McClendon, in the McClendon Law Firm for 20 years. He also is an active member within the Lubbock community, having served on numerous volunteer boards. He runs marathons from time to time, but is not as fast as Josh Leyva.
Dustin Brooks is an owner of the Company. As Executive Vice President, Dustin works with management in the company in business development, vendor and outside business relationships, community involvement and philanthropy, regulatory compliance and other administrative matters. Dustin is an attorney with an extensive background in oil and gas, real estate and business transactions. Outside of Title One, Dustin practices law in his firm, Brooks Law, LLP, and owns and manages a diverse portfolio of commercial, single family and residential rental properties. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Finance and law school Cum Laude from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. He is also an active member within the Lubbock community having served on multiple non-profit boards, advisory panels and as chair/co-chair of charitable events. Outside of the office, Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife, Haley, and twin daughters, Claire and Caroline, playing golf, horse racing, hunting and fishing.
Sarah Cypert is from San Angelo but is proud to call Lubbock her home. Sarah has been in the title business for over 20 years, learning side by side with her father’s real estate law practice. As a licensed escrow officer with Title One, her passion is fulfilled by serving her customers and community. Sarah has been active in the community by volunteering her time with Community Partners of Lubbock and serving as Past President of the Junior Women’s Club of Lubbock. Sarah and her husband Wade have one son, Charles. They are active members of First Christian Church of Lubbock. Sarah and Wade are resident “foodies” and enjoy traveling to great restaurant destinations across Texas and the country. She is always willing to share her restaurant and menu recommendations with her friends and clients!
Donna Ragland was born in Lubbock and moved to Snyder in Elementary school. She went to work for Cotton & Cotton/Snyder Abstract in 1978 until moving to Hobbs NM in 1992 due to her husband’s Job Transfer with Chevron. He now works for GE Oil & Gas Artificial Lift. Donna was an Escrow Officer for Elliott & Waldron Title & Abstract Co in Hobbs from 1994 to 2010 before moving to Lubbock in order for her youngest daughter Spencer, to attend The Burkhart Center for Autism and Education Research at TTU. Kelly and Donna have two daughters – Courtney, who lives in Amarillo with her husband and two sons, Conner and Jackson and Spencer, who graduated from The Burkhart Center and now works at Quiznos, which is located in The Burkhart Center on the Texas Tech campus.
Amber Heesch grew up in Lamesa, Texas. She moved to Lubbock in 1998 to attend Texas Tech University where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. Amber has been in the title industry for 13 years, starting at Title One in 2014. Amber and her husband Jacob have two children, Emily and Colt. Both children attend Lubbock Cooper High School, where Emily participates in softball and Colt participates in football. They enjoy spending time with their family and attending their children’s sporting events.
Josh Leyva is originally from San Angelo, Texas. He graduated Cum Laude from Angelo State University, where he was a Carr Academic Scholarship recipient, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree concentrating in Management Information Systems. He later earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University. Josh has over 12 years of finance and accounting experience, working in the software and telecommunications industries before joining Title One. In his free time Josh is an avid runner and currently serves as a board member of the West Texas Running Club. In addition to running, Josh enjoys cycling, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
A Lubbock native, Thomas Hearron graduated from Coronado High School and pursued higher education at South Plains College. Thomas began his title industry career while in college as a courier, working his way up through the title research department to the position of lead examiner. Thomas brings 12+ years of research experience to the Title One team and has a focus on customer service. When away from the office, Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and three dogs. Most weekends you can catch Thomas at one of his children’s sporting events or the lake.
Rhonda Calvery has 24 years of experience in the title business. During that time, she has been employed with numerous title companies and law firms throughout West Texas. Although she has knowledge of probate and guardianship matters, real estate is her favorite field.
Rhonda has been with Title One for over 3 years. Her passion for structure and practices combined with her excellent customer service skills make her a valuable asset to lenders, realtors, sellers and buyers. She is instrumental in the generation and transmission of title commitments, supplemental documents pre-closing and the delivery of title policies and recorded documents post-closing. She also supports and interfaces with examination and closing departments.
Outside of the office, Rhonda enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her interests include astronomy, geology and history, which has led to a lot of teasing, so she is sometimes referred to as “National Geographic”.
Deborah Kann graduated from Lovington High School with honors and attended Texas Tech as a Business Management Major. While in high school, she was an active member of the Boys and Girls Club with 350+ community services hours along with playing on the varsity softball team as the catcher and captain and the varsity volleyball team as the libero and captain. She served as President of the National Honor Society Club and graduated 4th in her class. She has been employed with Title One for over a year and has a total of 5 years experience as an Administrative Assistant. Her duties consist of: accounts receivable, creating and sending out invoices, making deposits, scanning documents, filing documents, assists with processing title commitment requests, along with helping other team members when needed. Her hobbies include watching Texas Rangers baseball, playing with her three fur babies and reading. She is passionate about helping others and paying it forward.
Kistina McZeak grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended Stephens College, an all-Women’s College in Columbia, Missouri where she earned the Martin Luther King Outstanding Achievement Award. Following graduation, Kistina worked in her field of study as a residential counselor for children. She moved to Lubbock in 2000 and worked at the law firm of McWhorter, Cobb and Johnson for 14 years before joining the Title One family. Aside from being the social butterfly in our office, Kistina coordinates many tasks at Title One including ordering titles, receipting contracts, scheduling closings and keeping our entire staff in line. Outside of work, you can find Kistina volunteering at her church, Alexander Chapel here in Lubbock. She also enjoys traveling, snow skiing and cooking, when time permits.
Prim Naegele is a native West Texan who grew up just 20 miles north of Lubbock in Abernathy. After attending both Baylor University and Texas Tech, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lubbock Christian University. She came to Title One with over 15 years of sales and marketing experience ranging from pharmaceutical and medical marketing to, most recently, 6 years at the Lubbock Apartment Association. Prim has served in many local organizations including the Lubbock Junior Women’s Club, United Way, Children’s Orthopedic Society, and various other philanthropic groups.
Before moving back to Lubbock in 2009, Prim and her husband Doug lived in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. They have 3 of the coolest kids ever (her words) and enjoy attending sporting events of all kinds, going to the lake, splurging on an occasional date night and spending time with family and friends.
